Splitter Creation

Having sent my car through every single mishap imagineable……I realized I needed a little bit more protection up front. Something removable that would save not only bumpers but essential pieces of the car like the oil cooler, powersteering cooler, filter, etc. So my buddy Drew and I went right to the drawing board and this is what we came up with. For supplies we turned to McMaster Carr (my personal safe place) for the adjustable height rod end combo and various circle track shops for the bases and other fabrication pieces. We then contoured our wood to the shape we liked on the Dmax type 3 bumper My mounts utilize oem crash bar bolt locations as they have just enough strength vs. give to never compromise the chassis in case of a bad hit.   The rest was just cut/fit/adjust to my liking. There are many ways to approach this but this was how we chose to do it on mine. I also offer this service to anybody else interested in a splitter setup on their car.
