XDC Summit Point June 2010
Alright, i’ve tested it out long enough to where I think its safe to post and say…SUCCESS!!!!!! did some more minor mods to cooling system including 26psi radiator cap and 2 14″ Derale fans totalling 4600cfm fully shrouded thanks to Triwerks Auto and now she’s running real nice!
Took her out to Summit Point XDC event where I caught up with some great friends of mine that I haven’t seen in forever and basically had a BLAST! that place is definitely a knuckle track so I got to put my MA-Motorsports knuckles to work, as usual those things are on point without any binding and no BS! Triwerks Auto made sure my cooling system was in check with the custom bleeder tank setup and new fans, the car never hit more than 110C. I was so happy! don’t freak out SR guys, thats perfectly fine for the ls1 haha.
So the weekend went well, I missed a practice session but I felt good about the course just in the knick of time for qualifying. I ended up qualifying 4th and received an award for the mantry contest which I was real excited about. In top 16 I ended up going against an awesome driver from mid-west, mr. cook. It was a good battle but I ended up advancing to top 8 where I was placed against my wonderful texas nemesis chelsea denofa, haha. no matter where we are driving, if its a competition and we’re both in it we always end up driving together and its usually hit or miss to see who advances…but this time chelsea took the cake. Knowing it was him i pushed my car extra hard on entry and accidentally dropped a tire pulling me off track, all the front brake in the world wasn’t keeping me on, oops! But all in all it was a great weekend and I was really excited to see Chelsea advance all the way to 3rd place and to FINALLY have my car perform very very well. The new softer springs definitely helped with grip (swapped from Tein 10/8 to Tein 8/Stance 6′s) but some more suspension changes will be utilized before our next big event…XDC NJ. This series is definitely good times guys, I suggest all of you that can come out do so!
Here are some pics from the xdc event I thought were amazing from the awesome dudes at Jersey Streets and Wrecked’s own Dan Jenkins
